10 Wisdoms of Ramadan
Found this article but I forgot where i got it from.
1. Taqwaa – this is explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an as one of the purposes of fasting. For 30 days we lesson our desires and by abstaining from them and show Allah that we are able to live without our most essential items for a period of time.
Gem: if you can live without your most essential things (food) for a time, then how about the sins which we do not need?
2. The Poor – we are reminded of those who abstain from these essentials throughout most of the year. Through this we come to appreciate the blessings of things like water.
Gem: We also come to realize the even the smallest blessings that we take for granted. Ex. like being able to fall sleep, to urinate.
3. Lessens our physical desires and increases our spiritual ones – During this month there is less emphasis on the body and more on the soul. By lessening our physical appetite we actually increase our spiritual capacity.
Gem: the Qur’an is a source of nourishment. The next time you feel hungry, pick up a Qur’an and it will satiate your appetite.

THE PRESIDENT: Please, everybody have a seat. Thank you. Well, it is my great pleasure to host all of you here at the White House to mark this special occasion — Ramadan Kareem.
I want to say that I’m deeply honored to welcome so many members of the diplomatic corps, as well as several members of my administration and distinguished members of Congress, including the first two Muslims to serve in Congress — Keith Ellison and Andre Carson. Where are they? (Applause.)

Update it reached 5th spot the last time i checked. ( To my estimate that’s about 250 ramadhan tweets per min)
It was higher than Inglourious Bastard which i think is opening today. Not bad.
I grew up with music by Dawud Wharnsby and this song does bring back some memories.
Lyrics
Well, weve scanned the sky and weve sighted the moon
And we welcome the month of Ramadan
When well fast together for Allah, to help and strengthen our iman

Ask Allah to make this the most awesome, spiritually uplifting Ramadan you’ve ever had. Only He can make it happen and relying on Him completely is one step in boosting our spirits.
2. Quiet your mind, turn off the…
TV, internet, radio, cell phone, pager, iPod, etc. No, not all day, but for at least 10 minutes a day. Find a quiet place, close your eyes and connect with God. At first, your mind will swirl with the useless and not-so-useless info in your head. But force it to think of three things in these few minutes:
Allah
your purpose in life
are you living your life on purpose?Do this every day of Ramadan if you can. If that’s not possible, try it at least three times a week.
3. Learn about great Muslims
Even if you’ve read it before, read or listen to Abdul Wahid Hamid’s Companions of the Prophet again this Ramadan. Read about or listen to the story of a Companion daily. Well-written and short, this is a wonderful way to see how other Muslims retained their strength of faith against incredible odds. A sure-fire spirituality booster.
